20 BEST EVER UNOFFICIAL SLIMMING WORLD CHICKEN RECIPES

One of the ingredients I cook with on a regular basis is Chicken. It’s low in fat, high in protein and Syn free. I would estimate that I cook with chicken at least 4 times per week. 

I publish a LOT of chicken recipes but some are more popular than others. Don’t get me wrong I love them all but below I have put together my top 20 list of Slimming World friendly Chicken recipes. I hope you enjoy trying some of them.. old and new.



1. KFC STYLE CHICKEN FAKEAWAY

This is an oldie but still so popular. Using couscous to create a crispy KFC style coating the recipe is a delicious one for all of the family.


2. CHEEKY NANDOS CHICKEN FAKEAWAY

This is a weekly favourite in our house… it is so versatile as it can be served with a salad, rice, chips, roasted veggies, pretty much anything you fancy. 


3. CHINESE CHICKEN BREAST

This is one of my favourite quick and easy recipes as it has very minimal prep and can be popped in the oven whilst I am doing something else.. But its absolutely delicious and of course totally Syn free!


4. BUTTER CHICKEN CURRY

The first time I attempted this beautiful curry Mrfatgirlskinny was in heaven.. I have to admit I have not created it again since.. I really must have a curry night again soon. The flavours are simply stunning I just can’t believe it is Syn free!


5. BAKED LEMON CHICKEN BREAST

This baked lemon chicken breast is so quick and easy to make. There is minimal mess and it can be cooking whilst you are doing something else. All of the family will love this recipe.


6. CHICKEN TIKKA CURRY

Believe it or not this was actually my first ever recipe on the blog all of those years ago. It is still a favourite of mine today. 


7. CHICKEN AND BACON SUPREME

Many years ago (20 to be precise) when I first left home my mother bought me a cookbook so that I didn’t starve to death! This was highly unlikely since I lived within walking distance of every takeaway I could desire, but maybe she had high hopes that I would resist. Chicken supreme followed by homemade profiteroles were the first things I cooked from this book and both recipes have continued to be my specialites. However the original recipe is made with full fat double cream so that of course is a NO NO here on Slimming World. But never fear my lovelies I am here with a beautiful alternative replacing the cream with Quark.


8. CREAMY CHICKEN KORMA

When I first made this recipe I did a lot of research into the key ingredients of a chicken korma as I wanted to make sure it didn’t taste like your average “jar sauce”. What I discovered was that there is 100’s of different ways to make a Korma, but making it Syn Free whilst still keeping the authentic taste was going to be my hardest challenge.


9. CHICKEN TIKKA SKEWERS

One of my favourite BBQ foods is chicken skewers.. they are very lean, low fat and can be completley Syn free if coated in the right way. I don’t feel guilty devouring them one by one and all of the family love them! Who knew they were Syn free huh?


10. CHICKEN JAMBALAYA

Jambalaya is one of the easiest and best rice dishes which adds a little cajun spice. This traditional American recipe is a pretty impressive way to show off Syn free cooking to friends and family.


11. THAI GREEN CHICKEN CURRY

Thai food is one of my favourite cuisines and this chicken curry is so easy to make.


12. CHICKEN PAELLA

I am not keen on seafood paella but this chicken paella recipe is a great alternative.


13. SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN

Sweet and Sour Chicken was always my favourite dish when ordering a Chinese Takeaway.. so this is one of my favourite Fakeaway recipes. Perfect over rice and served with some Slimming World friendly chips.


14. CHICKEN WITH CREAMY MUSHROOM SAUCE

This delicious Creamy Mushroom Sauce is great served with just about anything – steaks, meatballs, chicken, pork, vegetables, pasta and potatoes. It is quick and easy to prepare and completely delicious.


15. MILD CHICKEN CURRY

Curries are a great way to create Syn Free meals on the Slimming World plan that all of the family will enjoy. They are filling, tasty, cheap and not a great deal different to what we would eat “normally”. Curries are full of tasty spices making it something that is enjoyable to eat.


16. CHICKEN JALFREZI CURRY

This slow cooked Jalfrezi needs around 2 hours prep and cooking time. But it is absolutely delicious and well worth the effort for a lovely Syn Free meal.


17. CRISPY CORNFLAKE CHICKEN

These crispy low syn Chicken tenders are coated in cornflakes to create the perfect KFC Chicken Fakeaway. They are quick, simple and easy to make, not forgetting tasty for all of the family. They make the perfect low Syn Slimming World.


18. PESTO STUFFED CHICKEN BREAST IN BACON

This stuffed chicken in bacon recipe is amazing. It is absolutely perfect for a family meal or to impress people at a dinner party. Syn Free too so even better. I can highly recommend serving with vegetables, boiled new potatoes or rice.


19. CHICKEN GOULASH

This Syn Free Hungarian Paprika Infused Chicken Goulash recipe is full of spice and flavour.. Serve alongside rice or your favourite speedy salad/vegetables.


20. CHICKEN FAJITA BURRITO WRAPS

These chicken fajita burrito wraps are perfect for a lunch or dinner.. add a delicious speedy side salad too. To make these Syn free use 1 Weight Watchers wrap as your Healthy Extra B allowance and the cheese from your Healthy Extra allowance. If not you will need to syn the wrap.

    Thank you for all these fantastic recipes! I have to say I cook chicken very often too! When you followed a weight loss diet, and you want to maintain your weight, Chicken is your best partner!!
