NEW Asda Low Syn Ice Cream | Slimming World News

Oh Asda I do love thee! Finally a low syn ice cream that will not hurt my purse.. When I saw these on the shelf I almost did a little dance right there and then. But because the lady next to me was already giving me a strange look for rearranging the ice cream for a photo, dancing may have been pushing it too far!
Don’t get me wrong I am a HUGE fan of Halo top and Breyers but at £5 a tub most of the time they can jog on…

Now as much as I love you all.. PLEASE do not rush out and buy 20 of these tubs to “stock up”….. They aren’t going anywhere.. they will still be there next week! Spare a thought for your fellow Slimming Worlders. Give everyone a chance. (It’s worth a try huh?)

Right let’s get down to the nitty gritty! Is it actually any good? I hear you ask.

Yes it really is! My favourite is the Birthday cake as it is just like my most favourite Raspberry Ripple ice cream. It feels so naughty and you could literally devour a whole tub for less than 400 calories!

The Cost

These tubs are currently on sale for just £2.50 in Asda. As far as I am aware this will be the set cost. Even though I did see some mention on Instagram of them being £3.00 when they were first released.

Compared to Halo Top and Breyers this is a £2.50 saving.. I know where my loyalty is so far.

How many Syns does this new ice cream contain?

Asda Birthday Cake Ice Cream: 10 Syns for 1/2 a tub (236ml/Approx 132g)

Asda Peanut Butter Ice Cream: 9 Syns for 1/2 a tub (236ml/Approx 132g)

Asda Vanilla Ice Cream: 8.5 Syns for 1/2 a tub (236ml/Approx 132g)

Please take my gram measurements very lightly.. they are absolute approx.

The Syn content is very slightly higher than the leading brands of Halo Top and Breyers but I think it is worth it for the cost and the taste too. The birthday cake version is 100% nicer and naughtier than Halo top. Also I just feel that it tastes more like original ice cream rather than having that fake taste.

The only thing I think Asda could of done better is giving it a name.. it is simply just “Ice cream” so there is no real difference between their own standard ice cream and this. But I guess they have to be careful to not be a direct copy of the leading brands. So for now we will just refer to it as “Ice cream”.

I would 100% recommend dashing down to Asda right now or adding to your online shop.

Everyone on Instagram is loving this product too….
