Best Ever Slimming World Friendly Overnight Oat Recipes

An amazing list of Slimming friendly healthy Overnight Oat recipes, try something new and have breakfast prepared the night before. Perfect for people who are looking for an “on the go” breakfast.

What are overnight oats?

Overnight oats are raw oats that have been soaked overnight in liquid. Popular choices are natural fat free yoghurt, milk, coconut milk etc. The oats then absorb the liquid during the night, softening them without all the work. They are a great breakfast for people who are on the go, they are also very filling and tasty!

One of the first thing you will learn when joining Slimming World is how popular Overnight Oats are. But the basic recipes can become boring.. so I have put together a top list of ideas to encourage you to try something new.

What is needed to make overnight oats?

All you really need is a really good jar with an airtight lid.. I highly recommend these glass clip jars from Amazon.

In all honesty though any good glass or plastic jar with a lid works perfectly. As long as its big enough to allow the oats to expand as they absorb the liquid.

How long do overnight oats last for?

Generally they taste better the next day, but they could be left for upto 3 days in the fridge.

Basic overnight oats

Let’s start at the beginning and keep it simple!

Using 40g Dried Porridge Oats (Your Healthy Extra B allowance) you are going to layer these with around 150g of Fat free natural or greek style yoghurt. First mix the yoghurt with 1/2 tsp granulated sweetener. Spoon around a third of the yoghurt in the bottom of the jar, then sprinkle half of the oats, on top, spoon another third of the yogurt on top of this, then the other half of the oats… finally spoon the remaining yogurt on top. Seal this with a tight lid and place in the fridge overnight.

This is the most basic recipe but if you are new to Overnight Oats its best to start here and work your way into being more adventurous later.
