Syn Free Chicken Fried Rice Fakeaway | Slimming World Recipe

I love putting together a Fakeaway meal because not only does it save money over a usual takeaway but it massively cuts calories.. it’s also delicious. Before Slimming World we would probably have a Chinese takeaway each week. No wonder I was so overweight.

I love this chicken fried rice recipe and it’s totally Syn free.. enjoy.


(This makes 4 portions and its perfect for freezing and reheating)

110g White rice (uncooked weight)
2 Small chicken breasts finely sliced (you could also use beef, pork or just leave it plain)
1 Onion finely chopped (or frozen onion)
1 Clove garlic (or garlic granules)
4 Mushrooms finely chopped (or frozen mushroom)
50g Frozen peas (or tinned)
50g Frozen Sweetcorn (or tinned)
1 Red pepper finely chopped
1 Yellow pepper finely chopped
3 Tbsp Dark soy sauce (or light would do the job)
1 Tbsp Oyster sauce
2 Eggs beaten
Salt and pepper.


  • Boil water in a pan and add your rice. Half way through cooking.. remove from heat and drain through a colander. Wash the rice again with hot water. Place back into a pan of boiling water and continue cooking. Repeat this process when it is fully cooked. This prevents the rice from sticking together.
  • Allow the rice to cool completely.
  • Add Frylight to a frying pan and cook the onions, peppers, peas and sweetcorn until softened.
  • Add chicken and mushrooms. Cook on a low heat until chicken is cooked through.
  • Add your beaten eggs and scrambled this in the mixture. Keep it moving to stop from sticking.
  • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce and garlic.
  • Reduce the heat and add your rice. Stir continuously and add some extra soy sauce if needed. Season with salt and pepper.

Low Syn Beef In Black Bean Sauce | Slimming World Recipe

If you are anything like me.. you will LOVE Chinese food 😀 I certainly do. We tried this amazing recipe tonight and it was fantastic. A new favorite in our house that is for sure. The first time was a little spicy so i have adjusted the recipe slightly. (A little spicy may be underestimating a tad haha)

Portions: 2
Syns: 0.5 per serving.
Warmth: Spicy (reduce chillis for less heat)


For the marinade

– 1/2 tsp Sesame oil (1 syn)
– 1 tsp light soy sauce
– 1 tsp dark soy sauce
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– Pinch of salt

For the sauce

– 1 Beef stock cube
– 150ml boiling water
– 1 tbsp oyster sauce
– 1 tsp light soy sauce
– 1 tsp dark soy sauce

Other ingredients

– 375g beef strips (or you can use chicken, turkey or pork)
– 1 large onion (or frozen onion)
– 2 garlic cloves (or 2 tsp garlic powder/flakes)
– 1/2 tsp ground ginger
– 1 red pepper
– 3 tbsp black beans (mashed)
– 2 red chilli peppers (use 1 for a less spicy recipe)
– 4 spring onions
– 1 tbsp rice vinegar
Fry light


– Try to marinade overnight if possible.. or as long as you can.

– Add all of the marinade ingredients to a mixing bowl.

– Add the beef and cover all of the strips allowing the marinade to soak in.

– Put the beef into a freezer bag or a covered bowl and keep in the fridge overnight or for as long as possible.


– Once you are ready to create your meal first start with the sauce.

– Add the boiling water and a stock cube into a jug to dissolve.

– Add the rest of the sauce ingredients and mix. Set this to one side until later.

The rest:

– Spray your pan with fry light and brown your beef.

– Once browned remove from pan and put to one side

– Chop your spring onion, onion, chillis and pepper and add to the pan with ginger and garlic.

– Fry until softened.

– Add your rice vinegar, Black beans and beef.

– Cook on a low heat for around 3 minutes ensuring the beef is cooked.

– Add your stock sauce and simmer for a further 3 minutes.

Serve with rice 🙂 Enjoy, we certainly did!
