Syn Free Chicken And Bacon Cheesy Tomato Pasta | Slimming World Recipe

I put together this fantastic pasta tonight mainly from what I had lingering in the kitchen and it was delicious 🙂 It will serve 2 people or feel free to freeze the second portion. As long as you use the Dairylea from your Healthy Extra allowance this is totally syn free.


(Serves 2… or freeze your second portion): 

250g dried Pasta
1 Large Chicken breast
3 Rashers of bacon with all fat removed
1 Red pepper
1 Onion
4 Tbsp of frozen sweetcorn (or tinned)
2 Dairylea light triangles (Use your healthy extra A or 3 syns)
250g Passata
2 Tsp Garlic granules (or 2 cloves garlic)
1/2 Tsp Dried mixed herbs
1 Chicken stock cube
Salt and pepper


  • Bring water to boil in a pan and add the pasta.
  • Chop pepper and onion and add to a frying pan with a little Frylight. Cook until softened.
  • Meanwhile slice your chicken breast into diced pieces and remove all fat from bacon and cut into small strips.
  • Add sweetcorn, chicken and bacon to the frying pan and cook on a medium heat stirring regularly. If you find the mixture to be sticking or too dry add a spoonful of water from the pasta pan.
  • Add garlic, crushed stock cube, herbs, salt and pepper and cook for a further minute or two ensuring the chicken and bacon are cooked.
  • Reduce heat and add the Dairylea triangles and stir until melted and fully covering the mixture. Add half of your passata and stir.
  • Drain the pasta and add to the frying pan. Mix the pasta in ensuring it is fully covered and then decide if you think it needs a little more passata. We like our pasta quite dry but if you would prefer this to be more saucy just add more.
  • Cook for a couple of minutes on a low heat ensuring it is fully warmed through.

Syn Free Chicken And Bacon Pasta | Slimming World Recipe

My mother in law came up with this gorgeous pasta dish after i gave her a list of “free foods” i was allowed to eat.. She even went out and bought frylight too. How sweet.

Anyway it is absolutely delicious I 100% recommend it.

Syn free on Extra easy – Slimming World plan.

Ingredients: (serves 2 – 3 people)


  • Cook pasta in boiling water
  • In a separate pan, coat with frylight, cook the chicken and bacon with garlic until heated through. Add onion, red pepper, mushrooms and spinach (if using frozen spinach i suggest cooking this with the pasta). Add chopped tomatoes and passata and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in basil and black pepper and allow to simmer for a further 5 minutes.
  • Drain the pasta and mix in with tomato mixture, heat through and serve.

For an added extra… add you Hex A cheese grated on top 🙂

Syn Free KFC Style Chicken Fakeaway | Slimming World Recipe

My husband and I would have regular KFC takeaways and honestly we were missing them so I tried this ultimate KFC “Fakeaway” and it’s all completely delicious!

(serves 2 )

For chicken:

(I have now been told this is a “tweak” but i still consider this to be syn free in my opinion because couscous is syn free and i am eating the same amount as i usually would, i will let you choose)

If you are going to count this as a tweak I would allow approx 5 Syns per serving.



  • Add Couscous, Mustard powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, cumin, crumbled stock cube, clove of garlic, salt and pepper to a bowl and pour in boiling water until it literally just covers the couscous (no more). Stir everything together. Allow to stand for 5 to 10 minutes. You are looking for a dry fluffy couscous.. if you feel the couscous can expand some more feel free to add a little bit more water.
  • Add half of the beaten eggs and stir in, you are looking for a  gooey runny mixture. If this is really too runny at this point do not add the rest of the egg… if you feel it can be more runny please do add the rest.
  • Spray a baking tray with frylight to prevent sticking. (or use brown grease proof paper)
  • Coating the chicken is not always the easiest.. it will not stick perfectly.. get it covered as much as possible.. then feel free to put the chicken onto the baking tray and add more couscous on the top. There is no real perfection to this recipe its trial and error to get it right for you.
  • Coat the chicken in the mixture, place on baking tray and baked in the oven at 210°c for 25 to 30 minutes.

For coleslaw:
(1 syn per serving, serves 2):



  • Grate carrot and finely chop a small amount of cabbage and the onion and place into a bowl.
  • Mix with the mayonnaise and then add garlic, mustard powder, salt and pepper.
  • Store in the fridge for a few hours before consuming as it allows the spices to marinate a little.

For wedges: (Syn free on extra easy)


  • 6 Large potatoes (I always suggest Maris Pipers)
  • Frylight
  • Paprika
  • Salt and Pepper


  • Cut potatoes into a wedge shape and boil for around 5 minutes.
  • Drain and place onto a baking tray.
  • Coat with frylight, paprika, salt and black pepper and back for 25 minutes at 180°c.

Serve with corn on the cob and baked beans for a perfect KFC style fakeaway 🙂 I tend to use the frozen bags of corn on the cobs which are about £1 in Tesco. They are much cheaper and cook in the microwave in about 5 minutes.

When I cook I always substitute oil with Frylight 1 Cal Spray. This spray is Syn free and it’s a HUGE healthy alternative to oil. I find the cheapest place to purchase this from is Home Bargains as its always on offer at around £1.45. But often it’s on offer in Iceland and other Supermarkets.

Syn Free Chicken Tikka Fakeaway | Slimming World Recipe

I tried the Chicken Tikka recipe on the Slimming world website and honestly it just tasted like a mouthful of grit.. It just didn’t have enough liquid in it. Finally my husband and I have perfected our delicious syn free chicken tikka.. hopefully you will enjoy too.

Ingredients: (serves 2)

I always use a NUTRIBULLET to mix my curry paste but you could mix this together in a bowl.. I always prepare my paste to marinate the chicken at least 2 hours before but it is much better if you can leave overnight.


  • Add 6 TBSP of natural fat free yoghurt, tikka spice, ginger, paprika, cumin, basil, garlic, salt and pepper into a bowl or blender, Mix until a paste is formed.
  • Add uncooked chicken and allow to marinate for as least 2 hours.Heat pan and coat well with frylight as the yogurt can cause it to stick.
  • Heat the chicken until cooked through and add onion.
  • Add the tin of chopped tomatoes and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
  • This is where you need to decide if the curry needs extra creaminess or liquid.. if so add the remaining yogurt to taste.. this is entirely up to you
  • Allow to simmer for a further 5 minutes and then serve with rice or syn free chips..

I have heard a few people mention that they find it hard to buy tikka spice from the supermarket.. we get ours from Tesco no problems here
