Syn Free Butternut Squash Lasagna | Slimming World Recipe

Most Slimming World followers are going crazy for the new Butternut Squash range in Sainsburys. Including the new Lasagna sheets. Pasta is Syn free anyway but you can cut the carbs and calories by using these new lasagna sheets.

This Lasagna is brilliant for batch cooking.. simply freeze portions for reheating later on.

If you don’t fancy the Butternut Squash you can change this for normal pasta lasagna sheets.


(Serves 6 portions)

500g Extra Lean 5% Minced Beef
5 Tbsp Tomato Puree
1 Tin of chopped tomatoes 400g
1 Carton of passata 500g
2 Beef Stock Cubes
3 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tsp Dried mixed herbs
2 Cloves Garlic chopped (or 2 Tsp garlic granules)
1 Stick of Celery finely chopped
1 Carrot peeled and finely chopped
1 Onion diced
6 Large Mushrooms sliced thinly
1 Courgette sliced
1 Red Pepper finely chopped
1 Green or yellow Pepper finely chopped
Butternut Squash lasagna sheets

500 g Fat Free Natural Yogurt (or quark)
2 Medium eggs
1 tsp Mustard Powder
120 g Low Fat Cheddar cheese grated (1/2 Healthy extra A per portion)


  • Heat a large pan and spray with Frylight
  • Add the onion, carrot, celery and garlic to the pan and cook until softened.
  • Add the mince to the pan and cook until browned.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, courgette, pepper and mushrooms and cook for a further few minutes.
  • Add the crumbled stock cubes, chopped tomatoes, passata and tomato puree. Cover with a lid if possible and simmer on a low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Spread half of your mixture over the bottom of a Lasagna dish.
  • Cover with a layer of your butternut squash Lasagna sheets.
  • Spread the rest of your mixture over the top of this.

Make your White sauce:

  • Beat the eggs in a bowl and add the yogurt bit by bit whisking as you go.
  • Add mustard powder and a pinch of salt and whisk further.
  • Spoon the white mixture on top of the lasagna covering every gap.
  • Sprinkle over your grated cheese.
  • Bake in the oven on 180c for 40 – 50 minutes.

Syn Free Tagliatelle Carbonara Pasta | Slimming World Recipe

I have made something similar to this before but I used Philadelphia in the past.. this time i decided to use Dairylea and it improved the recipe 100%.

Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves: 2
Syns: None (6 syns if not using as healthy extra)


250g Tagliatelle pasta (or more if you are mega hungry) (Could also use another pasta like penne etc…)
5 Rashers of bacon (smoked or unsmoked) with all fat removed before cooking
200g Tinned lean ham
1 Ham stock cube (or you could use chicken)
2 Cloves of garlic (or 2 tsp of garlic powder or flakes)
1/2 Tsp of dried mixed herbs
150g Dairylea light soft spread (use for your healthy extra A) (or 6 syns)
3 Large mushrooms (or frozen mushroom)
1 Large leek
1 Red pepper
Salt and pepper to season
Fry light


  • Add water to a pan, once boiling add your 250g of pasta and cook until soft.
  • Meanwhile chop your pepper, leek and mushrooms. Spray a pan with Fry light and add pepper and leek. Cook until soft.
  • Meanwhile remove all fat from your rashers of bacon and cut your ham into cubes.
  • Add your mushrooms, bacon and ham to the pan, cook on a low heat.
  • Add your garlic, mixed herbs, crushed stock cube, salt and pepper. If you find it is sticking add a spoonful of your pasta water to moisten.
  • Turn down to a low heat and add your cheese. Be careful that the cheese does not burn or stick. Keep it moving.
  • When the pasta is cooked do not drain. Use tongs to remove the pasta and add it to the pan of ingredients. Wet starchy pasta allows the sauce to stick together more and adds a little water to your sauce also.
  • Make sure the pasta is covered in all of the cheese and everything is mixed together well and serve.

This recipe is only Syn free is you are using the Cheese as your healthy extra A. If not please add 6 Syns.
This recipe could be served with a speedy salad.. or replace the bacon with extra speed foods such as extra peppers, onions or spinach.
I wouldn’t suggest having this recipe too often as bacon and ham is fairly high in salt and fat content. But it makes an excellent treat.

Homemade Healthy Pizza Recipe | Slimming World 14 Syns Or 376 Calories

I am in no way saying this is syn free.. it’s 100% not.. but it’s absolutely delicious and a great way of making a healthier pizza fakeaway… Also great fun to make with all of the family.
I have worked out that this would be

14 Slimming world syns OR 376 calories for one cheese pizza (choose syn free toppings and count calories on your chosen toppings)


(Makes 1 pizza.. just double/triple etc for more pizzas)

For the base:

– 75g Self raising flour (225 calories / 13.5 syns)
– 1 teaspoon of baking powder (5 calories / 0.5 syns)
– Pinch of salt
– 100g of fat free natural yoghurt (52 calories / Syn free)

For the topping: (If having a plain cheese pizza.. )

– 200g of chopped tomatoes (50 calories / syn free)
– 2 tsp sweetener (4 calories / syn free)
– Pinch of mixed herbs, black pepper and garlic powder.

– 50g Half fat mozzarella (85 calories / syn free if using your healthy extra A)

Fry light

Try to choose syn free toppings such as:

Pepper, mushrooms, onion, chicken, beef, pork, pineapple, ham, spinach, sweetcorn.. the list is endless 🙂
I can highly recommend these steak fajita bits from tesco here


– Add your chopped tomatoes, mixed herbs, garlic, black pepper and sweetener into a sauce pan.. bring to boil and then allow to simmer to reduce down and thicken.

– Meanwhile prepare your base. Preheat the oven to 220c and pre heat your baking tray. I can highly recommend one of these awesome pizza trays..

– Add your flour, baking powder and salt to a bowl, mix together and then make a well in the middle. Add your yoghurt and then mix together with a fork to form a dough.

– Sprinkle some flour on to your work surface and on to your hands (this mixture really is sticky). Kneed the dough until you have a perfectly smooth ball.

– Remove your hot tray from the oven and spray with fry light or lightly grease.. place your dough ball onto the tray and mold into a pizza like shape..

– Place in the base in the oven for around 5 minutes or until you can see it is starting to go slightly golden.. remove from the oven and flip the base over.. now its time to add your toppings…

– Spread your tomato sauce over the base evenly.. then shred your mozzarella and place in pieces dotted over the base.. Lightly season with black pepper and salt..(If you are going for a cheese pizza skip to the next step)
Add your other toppings.. such as cooked chicken, peppers.. whatever you fancy.. (do not use raw meat it will not have time to cook)

– Place your pizza back in the oven for around 6 – 8 minutes or until you can see it is cooked.. we sometimes grill for the last minute or two to crisp it up a little 🙂

Syn Free Chicken And Bacon Pasta | Slimming World Recipe

My mother in law came up with this gorgeous pasta dish after i gave her a list of “free foods” i was allowed to eat.. She even went out and bought frylight too. How sweet.

Anyway it is absolutely delicious I 100% recommend it.

Syn free on Extra easy – Slimming World plan.

Ingredients: (serves 2 – 3 people)


  • Cook pasta in boiling water
  • In a separate pan, coat with frylight, cook the chicken and bacon with garlic until heated through. Add onion, red pepper, mushrooms and spinach (if using frozen spinach i suggest cooking this with the pasta). Add chopped tomatoes and passata and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in basil and black pepper and allow to simmer for a further 5 minutes.
  • Drain the pasta and mix in with tomato mixture, heat through and serve.

For an added extra… add you Hex A cheese grated on top 🙂
