Best Ever Recipes Under 600 Calories

Cooking healthy and keeping to a calorie deficit can be tricky, especially when cooking for a family too. Today I want to bring together my favourite under 600 calories meals to give you some ideas of what to cook whilst also trying to lose weight.

Every meal on this page is between 50 and 600 calories, low in fat and perfect to help you lose weight. Anything from soup, to curry and pasta bakes. Each meal is delicious and full of flavour. Don’t eat boring food just because you are trying to lose weight! 



1. Minced Beef Pasta Bake

505 Calories Per Serving

Pasta bake is always a bit of a crowd pleaser, and this one is no exception. I always find pasta bakes are a hit with the kids and they are filling enough to feed a family of 4 – 6 people. This recipe has essentially been designed with Slimming World in mind, using Syn free ingredients. But it is perfectly healthy for WW followers or people following a calorie defecit. 


2. Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup

94 Calories Per Serving

Delicious Syn Free roasted red pepper and tomato soup is a blend of red peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic and basil. It’s absolutely delicious, low in calories, healthy and really easy to make. Simply roast all of the veggies on one baking tray and then just blend it all together. 



3. Baked Yoghurt Chicken

170 Calories Per Serving

Delicious tender yoghurt marinated chicken. Made with chicken breast (or chicken thighs if you are more of a thigh person) that have been soaked in a Greek yoghurt based marinade that’s brimming with flavour.


4. Lamb Pilaf

One Pot Lamb Pilaf is a warm, comforting, fragrant, and easy dinner recipe that features (besides the obvious – lamb and rice) onion, garlic and some delicious spices. As the rice cooks the flavours and juices from the lamb seep down into the rice and create the most delicious rice pilaf.

6. Chinese Orange Chicken

This delicious version of the popular Chinese Orange Chicken packs in all of the amazing sweet and savoury orange flavour of the restaurant style version, but with only a fraction of the calories and fat.  Making this Slimming friendly meant it had to be naturally sweetened with honey making this an acceptable healthy evening meal when following the a controlled weight loss plan.



7. Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

131 Calories Per Serving

Super easy to make and delicious sweet potato fries all made in the air fryer. Crispy and tasty, even the kiddos will love these too. This recipe has been created with Slimming World in mind but is also suitable for anyone following WW or a calorie deficit.
